Nichols Chiropractic Now Offer Cold Laser Therapy

Have you thought about trying cold laser therapy for pain management? Cold laser therapy (also known as low level laser therapy) utilizes specific wavelengths of light to stimulate internal healing and reduce inflammation. This safe, effective, pain management technique can help ease pain that’s associated with whiplash injuries, neck pain, sciatica, back pain and other chronic pain conditions.

How Laser Therapy Helps the Body Heal After Injury

We’re excited to now be offering cold laser therapy at Nichols Chiropractic. Below, our chiropractor shares three ways that cold laser therapy may help you:

#1: Enhance the benefits of chiropractic care. After an accident injury, chiropractic care helps bring correct alignment back to your spine. While adjustments are important for relieving nerve compression, adjustments alone cannot “heal” a soft tissue injury. That’s where cold laser therapy comes into play. Cold laser therapy enhances pain relief by reducing inflammation and stimulating internal healing.

#2: Reduce the occurrence of scar tissue. When the body is injured, scar tissue can form over the injury, which can restrict mobility and exacerbate pain. Cold laser therapy helps to reduce the formation of scar tissue by using energy from light to stimulate internal healing. Cold laser therapy sends light six to eight inches below the skin. Cells convert this energy into ATP, a cellular “fuel” source. Increased ATP production helps the body heal faster with more efficient cellular repair.

#3: Heal faster after injury. In addition to dealing with pain after an injury, you may also be struggling with reduced mobility. By reducing the risk for scar tissue formation, laser therapy helps to bring a fuller range of mobility back to the body following an injury. Together with physiotherapy and corrective exercises, cold laser therapy can help you get back to doing the activities you love, faster!
