Common Workplace Injuries

There are a number of injuries that can occur in the workplace, though the risk for some injuries can be higher for those in certain industries. Unfortunately, even those who work rather sedentary jobs can become injured at work, as slip-and-fall accidents are among the most common we see in our office. When these incidents occur, damage to the lumbar (lower) spine is relatively common at the point of impact.

This can lead to problems including severe lower back pain, sciatica, and stiffness. In some cases, a herniated or slipped disc may also result from a slip-and-fall accident. This injury occurs when one or more of the fluid-filled discs between the vertebrae become dislodged upon impact. This can be a very painful injury, causing severe and localized pain in the back or neck.

Sometimes, workplace injuries can also be chronic, meaning they occur more gradually over time rather than at once. These types of injuries are most common in those who work in jobs that require heavy lifting. Over time, excess strain on the back can lead to injuries such as herniated discs or even poor spinal alignment.

How Our Chiropractic Team Can Help

Regardless of the specific workplace injury, you may have suffered, the good news is that our chiropractic team can likely help. We'll begin with a thorough assessment in our office, which will allow us to reach an official diagnosis. From there, we can work on developing a customized treatment plan to suit your needs and lifestyle.

We offer a wide range of treatments for common workplace injuries in our office. One of the most common we provide is that of the spinal adjustment, which is ideal for correcting imbalances and poor alignment in the spine to relieve back pain, stiffness, and other symptoms. We also offer cold laser therapy for more immediate relief from pain, as well as spinal decompression for the treatment of herniated or bulging discs and other workplace injuries.
